Melody’s research is focused on Therapeutic Garden Design. Therapeutic Gardens are located at healthcare facilities like hospitals, clinics, nursing homes, etc. Therapeutic gardens guidelines differ depending on the user group, and type of facility, i.e. cancer center garden vs. psychiatric unit garden. In 2017 Melody presented her findings on the difference between designing for a healthcare facility vs. a hospice home. The findings were presented at the University of Massachusetts in a poster format shown below:
